IT Project Manager Spin off, Transformation and Transition
Responsibilities
- Build and manage the integrated master plan, milestones, dependencies, and critical path for separation and transition
- Run governance and reporting processes: steering updates, RAID (Risks/Assumptions/Issues/Dependencies), change control, and decision logs; drive timely decisions and approvals
- Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders including IT, vendors, Finance, HR, Student Services, and Facilities
- Define and execute cutover strategy, downtime windows, rollback approach, and early life support model
- Track procurement activities, manage vendor SOWs and SLAs
- Ensure security requirements are embedded in the transition plan; coordinate with Infrastructure/Security and Application/Integration leads
- Drive acceptance and decommissioning of shared components; oversee handover to steady‑state operations.
Requirements
- 10+ years in IT project/program management with a proven track record delivering multi‑stream transitions
- Experience managing at least three complex IT separations/spin‑offs or M&A carve‑outs end‑to‑end, covering both application and infrastructure/identity tracks, including cutover
- Strong knowledge of application migrations, data migration, identity/tenant separation (Microsoft 365/Entra ID/AD), and network changes
- Excellent governance and stakeholder management skills; experience in vendor and budget management
- Proficiency with planning and collaboration tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence)
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Preferred certifications: PMP or PRINCE2; agile/SAFe exposure beneficial; Prosci/OCM a plus
- Fluent in English and Cantonese
- Onsite presence in Hong Kong, with flexibility for after‑hours and weekend migration/cutover support
