Responsibilities

• Bridge complex data infrastructure and strategic business innovation in close collaboration with the Department Head.
• Oversee the architectural design, implementation, and management of enterprise data services to accelerate AI integration, elevate customer engagement, and improve operational efficiency.
• Partner with the Technology Department to lead user requirement gathering, data onboarding, schema mapping, user acceptance testing, and system health checks for core banking and data mart systems.
• Enable internal teams to leverage data marts and analytical use cases effectively.
• Build and customize internal and external data tags to satisfy specific business needs.
• Promote data quality, accessibility, and governance as a strategic asset across the Group.
• Provide timely, high-quality data products and analytics to internal business partners.
• Formulate and execute a Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) strategy to power organization-wide innovation and advanced analytics.
• Promote self-service capabilities across the bank for query execution, reporting, and data extraction.
• Direct the development and upkeep of scalable pipelines and modern data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming solutions.
• Construct secure, robust data services that enable seamless data consumption across business units.
• Harness structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources to uncover new revenue opportunities and support marketing efforts.
• Manage and maintain data marts.
• Ensure all data activities strictly adhere to internal policies and regulatory standards set by governing bodies.
• Engage with business sponsors to capture requirements, analyze data trends, and discover strategic opportunities.
• Collaborate with AI and Data Solution teams to supply clean, AI-ready datasets.
• Coordinate project planning and execution alongside internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Manage and mentor business and data analysts to build a culture focused on technical excellence and continuous growth.
• Maintain high integrity and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal risk controls.
• Implement strict data governance and access control practices across daily operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Decision Science, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in data management, business analytics, or data warehousing within the financial services sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
• Deep expertise in banking data architecture and analytical frameworks.
• Demonstrated history of driving enterprise-scale data projects from initial concept to live production.
• Hands-on experience in data engineering, ETL design, data onboarding, and data mart creation.
• Proficiency with data orchestration tools (dbt, Airflow), streaming platforms (Kafka), and business intelligence software (PowerBI, Tableau).
• Strong background in data visualization and dashboard design.
• Practical working experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Target-driven mindset with the ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Solid business acumen combined with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
