Key Responsibilities‍

• End-to-end ownership of enterprise MSSQL and PostgreSQL database platforms.
• Design, implement, and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions (e.g., SQL Server Always On, PostgreSQL replication).
• Lead database performance engineering by conducting load/stress testing and applying advanced tuning across queries, indexes, memory, I/O, and concurrency.
• Manage backup, restore, and recovery processes using Commvault, with regular DR validation.
• Plan and execute database patching, upgrades, and end-of-support lifecycle management.
• Drive capacity planning across data growth, storage, IOPS, CPU, and memory resources.
• Enforce database security, encryption, auditing, and compliance standards.
• Integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
• Automate routine tasks to enhance observability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Lead major incident resolution and provide mentorship to junior DBAs.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in database architecture and administration.
• Strong hands-on expertise with MSSQL and PostgreSQL in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Proven track record in delivering HA, DR, performance tuning, and production support.
• Practical experience with Commvault backup and recovery solutions.
• Comfortable working in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) operating models.
• Exceptional troubleshooting, performance analysis, and incident leadership skills.
