Responsibilities

• Administer Unix/Linux servers ensuring availability, performance, and stability across production and non‑production
• Perform installations & upgrades including configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Monitor system health to proactively identify and resolve issues
• Support critical applications hosted on Unix/Linux platforms
• Participate in modernization projects including migration, upgrades, and transformation initiatives
• Support new technologies and assist in planning/executing system refresh projects
• Collaborate with teams across application, database, network, security, and operations
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues and implement enhancements
• Troubleshoot incidents and performance problems
• Prepare documentation including operational procedures and support guidelines
• Ensure compliance with technology standards and security requirements
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
• Support governance including risk management and audit activities
• Drive automation and operational efficiency initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years’ Unix/Linux experience in system administration and infrastructure support
• Enterprise platform expertise with RHEL, CentOS, AIX, Solaris, or equivalent
• OS knowledge in server administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• System management skills including patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, HA, and DR solutions
• Scripting & automation using Shell, Python, Ansible, or equivalent tools
• Monitoring tools familiarity with system management platforms
• Enterprise environment experience in large‑scale infrastructure environments
• Broad IT knowledge across server, storage, network, and security technologies
• Modernisation experience supporting modernization, migration, and transformation projects
• Analytical skills with ability to resolve complex issues
• Independent working ability in fast‑paced environments
• Communication skills with strong stakeholder management
• Language proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
• Banking experience preferred in financial services environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Virtualization & cloud platform experience
• DevOps & IaC practices and automation
• Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Nagios, or SolarWinds
• Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, Red Hat Specialist, ITIL, or related credentials
• Leadership consideration for candidates with extensive experience and leadership exposure
