Position Description

We are seeking an outstanding professional to join our Calypso development group in Hong Kong, collaborating directly with key stakeholders across FICC and EQD business units, including Front Office, Operations, Product Control, Finance, and Risk Management. The position focuses on delivering custom solutions, addressing system issues, advising on platform setups, and building new functionalities. Our team utilizes a full-stack development strategy to handle business requirements end-to-end while collaborating with international counterparts and adjacent departments. Operating in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural setting, candidates will design innovative solutions to solve technical challenges, boost efficiency, and lower operational expenses. This role provides strong technical practitioners with direct exposure to front-to-back FICC and EQD business domains.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and develop new features or refine existing configurations within the Calypso platform.
• Enhance Calypso performance by optimizing or redesigning current functionality.
• Investigate and remediate escalated production issues associated with Calypso.
• Execute system migrations of business lines and workflows into or out of Calypso.
• Adhere to established software engineering standards for version management, continuous integration, and release governance.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation covering system design, support procedures, user guides, and operational workflows.
• Ensure comprehensive unit testing coverage and conduct thorough quality checks prior to QA or UAT deployments.
• Partner with production support engineers to coordinate release deployments and manage operational incidents.
• Perform additional project-related duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technology field from a top-tier institution.
• Approximately 10 to 12 years of software engineering and delivery experience, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to engage with business stakeholders, capture functional requirements, and deliver technical solutions.
• Deep technical expertise in Java frameworks and software design principles.
• Practical experience with J2EE application servers like JBoss and a solid grasp of Java memory tuning and optimization.
• Proficiency with the Spring framework and relational SQL databases.
• Strong analytical, technical reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with automated unit testing tools and engineering best practices.
• High attention to detail with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems independently.
• Effective communication skills in both English and Chinese.
